Laconia is the hub of the Lakes Region — and it's the town with the most variety in my service area. You've got downtown residential, the old mill-era neighborhoods, the whole Weirs Beach stretch, Paugus Bay, Opechee Bay, and the lakefront properties wrapping around Winnipesaukee and Winnisquam. From Hill it's about 25 minutes, running Route 3 or Route 11, and Laconia is a regular stop on my weekly route.
What I do most often near Laconia
If there's one town where all eight of my services regularly run, it's Laconia. The mix of year-round homes, seasonal camps, commercial properties near The Weirs boardwalk, and the sheer amount of lakefront means no two weeks look the same. Here's what comes up most often:
- Lake-property tree work around docks and camps. Mature hardwoods near the water, often with power lines and boathouses to work around. Careful rigging, no damage to the dock or the shoreline, and proper haul-out. This is a big part of my Winnipesaukee and Winnisquam work.
- Winterizing seasonal drives. Camps that get shut down for the winter but still need the drive cleared for inspections, deliveries, or the occasional off-season visit. I handle plowing setup, sanding on the steep sections, and snow removal when the owner asks.
- Firewood delivery for year-round residents. Laconia has a big year-round population that heats with wood. I deliver seasoned hardwood across the whole city — downtown, Paugus Bay, Weirs, and out toward the Gilford town line. Laconia is in my base delivery area.
- Drainage fixes on older Weirs-area homes. The Weirs and Opechee neighborhoods have a lot of mid-century homes with drainage that was adequate for the 60s and isn't anymore. Regrading, curtain drains, and proper outflow pipes fix most of it.
- Storm and tree-down cleanup. Between Belknap Mountain weather and Lakes Region windstorms, trees come down on Laconia properties every year. Emergency response, safe removal, and full cleanup.
